Alex's Notes

Almost every year at European World Travel we did a standard South America Journey. Sadly, I never hosted one. Now I realize, it was blessing. With the creativity and knowledge of my expert friends Kim Vincent and Shannon O’Connell at the Globus Family, I can proudly say this is the most amazing South America journey we have ever offered.

Kim Vincent, Globus Family's Product Development Manager for Latin America, used her magic to put it all together. Kim has had a hand in designing all our amazing Globus Custom South America adventures like: “Patagonia,” “Guatemala, Honduras, & Belize,” and “Costa Rica & Nicaragua.”

Shannon Connolly applied the final details and put all the above into operation along with our “Across Southern US,” “Across Northern US,” “America's Heartland” and “National Parks” journeys. Both Kim and Shannon know our Travel ‘Ohana very well and have included all the variety and uniqueness we have come to love.

STANDARD South America
Our program has all the basic highlights of South America: cable car ride up 1,300-foot-high Sugar Loaf Mountain where we toast our journey with a Brazilian cocktail; the 360-degree panoramic view from Corcovado Mountain; Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral housing San Martin's Mausoleum; Recoleta Cemetery where Eva Peron is buried; ride the Ecological Jungle Train for a closer view the spectacular Iguassu Falls; Sacred Valley’s semi-circular Kenko Amphitheater; browsing the old mountain village of Pisac; the Inca Fortress of Ollantaytambo; the legendary “Lost City of the Incas” – Machu Picchu; Santo Domingo Monastery built over Koricancha's Temple of the Sun; and the hillside Temple of Sacsayhuaman.

Special EXPERIENCES
On top of the Standard South America highlights, this itinerary features many special experiences including: exploring a Favela (slum) and visiting a school, commercial center and handicraft center; viewing both the Argentinean and Brazilian sides of Iguassu Falls; visiting Iguassu Bird Park which houses some 900 tropical birds plus a butterfly and hummingbird aviaries and a reptile section with caimans and snakes; seeing the magnificent 275 cataracts of Devil's Throat Canyon; and watching the sunrise over Machu Picchu.

A Variety of UNIQUENESS
There is something for everyone with our variety of uniqueness like: learning to Tango and watching a professional show; cooking traditional Argentine Empanadas; visiting a working Argentine Estancia and watching a horsemanship show; Savoring dinner and viewing the private Pre-Columbian Peruvian art collection at the Larco Herrera Museum; participating in an El Pago a La Tierra (Mother Earth) Ceremony performed by a shaman; visiting a local home to experience their way of life in the Scared Valley; learning to make Pisco Sours at a Peruvian Cooking Demonstration; and getting a real taste of life at a local Peruvian Food Market.

Once again, with the help of friends like Kim and Shannon at the Globus Family, we are able to continue to extend the Dold Family Tradition of Value, Service and Making Travel Dreams Come True Value.

This First (Deluxe) Class Globus program includes full days of sightseeing, lots special features, some of the top hotels with amazing locations (like the Belmond Das Cataratas-the only hotel located inside Brazil’s Iguassu National Park and the 5 star Sumaq where the Machu Picchu buses make stops); breakfast daily, plus four lunches (one at an Argentine Estancia) and 9 dinners (many of them unique) while touring. Being a custom program, there are no optional excursions, so basically you only need money for drinks and shopping. Sorry, I can go on and on…

Pray this itinerary appeals to your sense of adventuring exploration. Please contact me with questions.
