Alex's Notes

Every year since we had to cancel our 2011 trip, I've been asking my travel industry guru Todd Ney (AmaWaterways) and longtime industry buddy Ryan Droegemueller (Globus Family) if its time. Ryan is on the Globus' international emergency team. Got the green light as Egypt travel is beginning to boom again.

My Gut Says Go Now!
While most of the travel giants are building ships to launch their Egyptian programs at the end of 2020 or early 2021, my gut told me to go now. This paid off big time with Cuba in 2015. Months after our return the crowds invaded Cuba and today it's difficult to go.

Huge mahalo to Sue Rubin (Our Globus Key Accounts Director) for her crucial part in making this Custom Deluxe itinerary come true.

Our Most Awesome Egyptian Itinerary Ever!
Dad would be proud. Being a custom program gave me creative freedom. With the input from Todd and flexibility of Matt Lang (Globus Customs Tours) and our friends at Globus Lugano we made it a dream program. Of course, there are all the must see highlights - the Great Pyramids, Sphinx, Sakkara, the Valley of Kings & Queens, Temple of Amun Ra, Avenue of the Sphinxes, and much more (please see the itinerary attached).

What makes it awesome is starting out with three days at a deluxe Meridien property in Giza with our rooms overlooking the Great Pyramids (feel the ancient aura from our first day); discovering all the highlights of Cairo and the area before heading north to Alexandria and the Mediterranean Sea for the night; then spending 7-nights on the 5 Star St. George Nile cruise ship (used by Avalon when they did Egypt) for a leisurely ride on the Nile and exploring all wonders of the area including famous Abu Simbel.

Then there are the unique experiences like the Giza Sound & Light show, participating in a Galabeya party, a sunset ride on a Felucca, haggling at the local markets, savoring a Nubian Folklore show and more...
