Alex's Notes

Traveling through Europe with my father as a young man, I was always impressed with the churches he took me too. Whether a small Chapel in Zell am Ziller or the inspiring Cologne Cathedral, the artwork, architecture and treasures were magnificent. You could tell the craftsmanship and artistry were inspired by God. Much like how the passion play is dedicated to God. One gives it their all.

I love this itinerary as it brings back the amazing wonders of many unseen historic religious sites, plus visits some unique places like the ancient Catacombs, the Holy Stairs brought from Jerusalem (dating back to 326 AD), and St. Rita’s incorrupt body. Plus, rare inside visits to Venice's Byzantine Basilica, the Doges' Palace and the Bridge of Sighs.

Add to this, guided strolls through the charming towns of Cascia, Spello, Florence, Padua, Innsbruck, and Oberammergau; majestic scenery like peaceful Mount Sabasio where St. Francis prayed, Tuscany’s gorgeous landscapes, and the dramatic Po Valley; and multiple two-night stays giving us the opportunity to really experience the places we visit.

The amazing and charming Caterina Thiel will be our Director—God Willing! You might know her as European World Travel's exclusive Director of our Best..., Leisurely..., and Grand Tour of Europe series. Her valuable input was critical in tweaking this program for our Travel 'Ohana.

There are some hurdles when putting together a Passion Play program. It is very popular, and the space is tight. There are two deposits required, both of which are non-refundable, and I must estimate a few of possible costs which may arise in the next two years.

Luckily this will be my family's sixth time hosting Hawaii groups to the magnificent Passion Play and I have never increase the price of a program in my 27 years in the industry. With this experience and the help of my Globus Family, I plan to be as flexible as possible and bring down the cost. All part of my continuing goal to keep my Family's Tradition of Value, Service and Making Travel Dreams Come True.
