Alex's Notes

Mahalo for your interest in joining our special custom journey to the Eastern US & Canada during the Fall Foliage season.

I am thrilled to bring back a European World's favorite. One which I've always wanted to do. Since several of our Travel 'Ohana have already visited a few of the places, I wanted to change it up a bit.

With the amazing creativity of Ronda Dotts (who modified our Historic US, Canadian Rockies, Route 66, and Alaska programs) along with input from the impressive Barbara Buryiak (our amazing director), and Hillary Johnston (the director responsible for these Fall Foliage programs) we created a Dream Itinerary.

In fact, we ended up making so many modifications this program became a custom journey.

Been There Done That!
Well, I'd imagine many of you have done this part of the world. Recently the Travel 'Ohana and I have covered the following cities, so we spiced it up.

- Lancaster (America's Heartland): On our last stop there we visited an Amish Farm for lunch. This time we're going to the Hershey Farm for a Pennsylvania Dutch Smorgasbord dinner followed by a bakery demonstration.

- Washington DC (Historic US): We replace DC with a visit to Annapolis and Baltimore (Barbara's idea). This is even new to the Globus Family. Sights include the Maryland State House, the United States Naval Academy, Star-Spangled Banner Flag House, and the Reginald F Lewis Museum.

- Philadelphia (America's Heartland): While Philadelphia is famous as the “Birthplace of Our Nation” we're going to explore a unique side of the city. Highlights are the Eastern State Penitentiary, Philly Cheesesteak lunch, and a Mural Art discovery drive.

- New York City (America's Heartland): This time we'll enjoy a scenic FERRY ride past the Statue of Liberty to Ellis Island. Then the next morning savor a Food Experience stroll in the historic West Village, tasting a few delicious samples along the way.

Got Meals!
As suggested by Ronda and Barbara I did want to "kick it up a notch" with a typical Quebec breakfast (and visit) at the Erabliere le Chemin du Roy Sugar Shack. Well, as a bonus surprise our custom journey peeps added breakfast daily. Our culinary specialties are a dinner in the heart of Quebec City with a chance to visit Chateau Frontenac at night; an early dinner at the Skylon Tower Restaurant overlooking Niagara Falls; and our farewell dinner in New York City.

Plus our Hershey Farm Smorgasbord; Philly Cheesesteak lunch, and Food Experience stroll mentioned above and Barbara B's Specials we should keep our tummies happy.

Barbara B's Specials!
Barbara Buryiak (Director) was ecstatic when I ran this itinerary by her. This program launched her Cosmos directing career. Since then she's done it numerous times. Did you know Barbara is also a licensed guide in New York City? Her magical input into our special custom journey began while we were on our Historic US program this May. She probably figure out our Cracker Barrels, Trader Joe’s, and other unique stops already.

Plus, the Scenery!
Well one of the main points of our timing is the incredible Fall Colors. In the past we've been successful at this time of year. Usually catching a bit of the trees prior to the change giving us an "before and after" comparison. Of course, InshAllah (God Willing)!

Yet there's always the magnificent scenery of the White Mountains, Rideau Canal; the amazing Thousand Island National Parks; the many wooded islands along the Saint Lawrence River; the rich farmlands and vineyards of Ontario; Lake Ontario; thundering Niagara Falls, Appalachian Mountains; Susquehanna River Valley; the skyline from New York Harbor and much more

Pray this itinerary appeals to your sense of pioneer exploration. Please contact me with questions.
