Alex's Notes

Iceland & Faroe Islands Adventure is BACK!
This is another one of my favorite programs (hence why I bring them back) from the European World Travel Vault. This Iceland & the Faroe Islands journey is 98% fascinating nature (2% for the Viking history and unique culture).
After taking this program in 2010 with My daughter Dominique, I told everyone back home with this program you see the creation of the world. Volcanoes, miles of uniquely shaped lava fields, geysers (which name comes from Iceland), hot spring and the world's most amazing waterfalls blended with icecaps and glaciers creating the most fertile, deep green fields. Plus keep in mind that these are islands with streams, colorful lakes and gorgeous fjords all leading out to the surrounding ocean.

I'm also thrilled to be working once again with GreenGate Incoming. My mother met GreenGate at an international travel show in Berlin Germany back in early 2000 and we have been working with them ever since. Special Mahalo to Fríðun Jacobsen who persevered with her "can do" attitude and made it all happen.

Being Pioneers!
To put it straight, this type of travel is very simple, quaint and easy going. If you've been to Alaska and the Yukon (coming back in 2024) or stayed at a national park lodge, you should have an idea.

Most of our hotels have modern Scandinavian interiors yet a rustic exterior. One is part of a farm, and another is a student dorm most of the year (we only spend the night there). Service is their pride (family style) and highly rated. Hotel meals received rave reviews. All have wifi, most have TVs and a good number have coffee / tea makers in the room. Only three have porterage (I'll be there to help).

There is a pretty good amount of walking and at times off the beaten path (if you want to take it all in). Remember these are some of the most amazing natural landscapes in the world. A few days are long but the drives from place to place are between an hour to two hours. The weather is perfect for venturing with days around 60 F and nights at 47 F. Yes, July is their summer and the best time to visit.

Oh yeah, it can be expensive like Scandinavia and so we included almost all meals. Praise God our credit cards are well accepted.

Dream Making Adventure!
If you love natural beauty (I mean unbelievably amazing geological phenomena) or desire to feel at peace and at one with the world around you, this is the program for you. We took our time to make sure this would be a journey to remember.

My father taught me that when you visit a destination take in all that is possible so there is no need to go back. Again, I feel dad would be proud that we are keeping up his Family Tradition.

Special Features: Four nights in the 4-Star Hotel Brandon in Tórshavn (Faroe Islands) with visits to Vágar, Streymoy and Eysturoy Islands (3 of Faroes 18). In Iceland we spend two nights at both the Hótel Eyjafjallajökull (Hvolsvöllur) and the 4-Star Hilton Nordica (Reykjavík).
